Where It All Began
Long before Lumiere Vive existed, creativity and entrepreneurship were already woven deeply into our lives.
My journey with content creation began back in 2010 during the early days of Instagram with a page called Shabby Yellow Barn. I shared simple DIY projects, interior design inspiration, motherhood, vintage thrifting, and everyday family life while raising our growing family.
As our audience slowly grew, so did opportunities to collaborate with brands, host giveaways, connect with other creators, and build community online during what many considered the very beginning of influencer culture.
Over the years, we launched several small businesses together including handcrafted baby products through Treasured Little Creations and vintage inspired home décor through Rustic Nest. Each business carried a piece of our story and love for creating meaningful things by hand.
Our Family Story
We both grew up in Gilbert, Arizona. We met at 18 years old, married at 20 in 2006, and welcomed our first child at 21. We were young, hopeful, and learning how to trust God with each step ahead.
In 2016, our family experienced unimaginable loss when our daughter Joselyn Mae was born stillborn at 24 weeks. Her life forever changed ours.
In the midst of grief, I felt called to create something in her honor. That became Joss & J Boutique, named after Joselyn and our boys. What began from heartbreak quickly became a thriving boutique community built around family, faith, and connection.
Over the following years, our family continued growing through both joy and hardship. God continually reminded us that even in darkness, His light remains.
Seasons of Growth
In 2021, our family moved to Texas to help open the first Texas location for Barro’s Pizza, where Matt had already spent much of his life working alongside family.
We opened a second Joss & J location in McKinney, Texas, while also welcoming our sixth baby, Juliette, into the world.
But in October 2022, our lives shifted again when our son Jagger suffered a sudden pediatric brain stroke at only two years old. The days that followed were some of the hardest our family has ever faced.
Yet through every moment, we witnessed miracle after miracle. Jagger recovered far beyond what doctors initially expected, and our faith deepened in ways we cannot fully put into words.
A New Beginning
After eight years, we felt the Lord leading us to close Joss & J Boutique. What followed was a season of deep prayer, healing, and reevaluating what mattered most.
Our family spent several quiet months in Virginia, reconnecting, slowing down, and focusing fully on Jesus and family life before eventually returning home to Arizona in late 2024.
It was during that season that Lumiere Vive was born.
Meaning “Bright Light” in French, Lumiere Vive represents everything we believe God has carried us through: faith in darkness, beauty from ashes, restoration, resilience, and purpose.

Today, Lumiere Vive is a thoughtfully curated boutique and lifestyle brand rooted in intentional living, faith, beauty, and encouragement.
Many of the pieces you find here are carefully selected from brands and makers we genuinely love and trust. We thoughtfully curate products that align with our aesthetic, values, and desire to create a warm and meaningful shopping experience.
Alongside the boutique side of Lumiere Vive, content creation remains a large part of my heart and creative journey. Through storytelling, photography, home projects, motherhood, faith, travel, and partnerships, I continue sharing pieces of our family’s life online in hopes of encouraging others.
Everything we do is deeply centered around family. Our six children — Jayden, Julian, Jameson, Josephine, Jagger, and Juliette — are all part of this story and journey with us.
